The Slug & Lettuce has opened its doors opposite Cathedral Ruins in the Old County Hall, which was formerly home to The Establishment.

Following a £500,000 investment, the Slug & Lettuce is located on Bayley Lane and brings with it a team of around 40 people who will be serving up food and drinks from 10am daily. Open until 11pm on Monday-Wednesday, midnight on Thursday, 2am on Friday and Saturday, and 10pm on Sunday also boats a 140-cover outdoor area.

Keeping the building’s historic features at the heart of the interior design, there is an old dock that dates back from the building’s use as a court, which is now a VIP area, and a glass floor that shows stone steps leading down to the old cells. In keeping with Slug & Lettuce’s minimalist style, the modern interior includes new furniture throughout as well as brand new bathrooms. The outdoor area features a bar that sits as a centrepiece.

Famed for its cocktails, the Slug & Lettuce offers an extensive drinks menu, as well as 2 for 1 offers. There’s a new ‘Wine Down Wednesday’ promotion where you can get a selection of wines or prosecco for £12, as well as a ‘Wine and Dine’ deal that runs Monday-Friday offering three small plates and a bottle of house wine for just £20.
