St Mary’s Guildhall

Join the Guildhall Tudor’s in the Medieval Kitchen from Monday 27th May – Friday 31st May to find out all about the Tudor May Day celebrations and make your own willow crown to mark the joy of the new season.

Throughout the week there will also be a trail to discover the green men throughout the building, decipher their meaning and collect a prize! There will also be an opportunity to make your own pipe cleaner flower bouquets and green men masks for the perfect family friendly day out.

West Orchards

Craft session – Wednesday 29th May from 11am to 2pm.

Visit West Orchards for a free craft session and have fun decorating a mask. 

The Wave

Open from Saturday 25th May to Sunday 2nd June but closed on Wednesday 29th May

2hr sessions available at 10am, 1pm or 4pm, quiet session on Sunday 2nd June at 10am

You’ll find six epic slides that are precision-engineered to fill the thrill seekers with excitement, boasting everything from the disappearing floor of The Torrent, plunging in the pool at the end of The Cascade to the high-speed rollercoaster ride on The Rapids’.

The younger spill seekers will enjoy The Reef; a large splash pad at the heart of the waterpark with jets, sprays and slides.

The Wave Pool, churning 20 million litres of water every day, is a place for the chill seekers to ride the waves before going to Lazy River for a gentle wind around.

Transport Museum

Play & Make Zone – Saturday 25 May to Sunday 2 June

0 – 5 years, but all are welcome. Take a break from exploring the largest collection of British vehicles. Relax by playing big and a variety of crafts in the Play and Make Zone located in the Future Technology Gallery.

Tinker | Make | Play: May the forces be with you- Sat 25 May, Thur 30 May & Sat 1 June

All are welcome.  Inspired by some of the quirkier objects in the collections, Tinker | Make | Play Engineers will explore physical forces through hands-on exploration, making and playing.

Victorian Playthings – Saturday 25 May to Saturday 1 June (excluding Sunday)

3+, but all are welcome. Delve into Coventry’s inspiring and playful past by making our own Victorian playthings. Learn how to make spinning animations and fabulous hobby horses.

Art Masterclass Oil Painting – Thursday 30 May

8 – 16 years. Extend your art skills with this masterclass led by our Learning Team as we celebrate the diverse and inspiring collections at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum. In this workshop, your children will be guided through various sketching techniques before moving on to working with oil paints.

Sing-a-Long-a Matilda the Musical

Calling all revolting children and their parents – come and be a little a bit naughty at Sing-a-Long-a Matilda the Musical on Wednesday 29th May. The host will help you have “a holiday in your head” as they teach you some dance moves, show you how to use your free props bags and have you booing the villains and championing the heroes. YOU the audience are the stars! It couldn’t be easier or more fun! The first rule of Sing-a-Long-a is THERE ARE NO RULES! Fancy dress is strongly encouraged and full audience participation essential.

Laser Quest

Open 10am to 9pm during May half term.

The ultimate sci-fi action adventure for all. Whether you’re 6 or 66, you’ll love the adrenaline pumping exhilaration of stalking your opponents and unleashing a searing volley of laser fire in the battle zone.  Each player is kitted out with a futuristic body pack and carries a laser. Each game is played out in the Laser Quest labyrinth, with catwalks, mazes, swirling fog, music and lights.

Learn to Skate – Starting Monday 27th May

The perfect school holiday activity! Learn how to skate in just 3 or 5 days! Lessons run for 30 minutes each morning over three or five consecutive days during the school holidays. You will then have access to the public skate session after to practice your skills.
