National Pizza Day
When it comes to food and drink, most of us don’t need a specific reason to eat the good stuff. But if you’re looking for a cheeky excuse to tuck into pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner, then we’ve got just the thing.
The annual celebration of all things doughy and delightful is on February 9th and gives you a free-for-all to eat just as much pizza as you like. Lucky for you, in Coventry we have plenty of great pizza places. We’ve rounded up some of the ones in the city centre so you can start planning your pizza-extravaganza. Enjoy!
Millie’s Kitchen
Coventry’s very own Millie’s Kitchen serves up homemade pizza as part of a great menu of healthy, tasty Mediterranean street food. Found in their newly relocated location of Hertford Street, if pizza doesn’t float your boat, you can opt for pasta, salads, smoothies and a range of breakfast choices. A great local choice to celebrate National Pizza Day in Coventry.

Dodo
Dodo is one of the fastest-growing pizza chains in the world thanks to its slightly different approach. It calls itself ‘digital first’ which essentially means you do everything online – including watching your pizza actually being made. A webcam allows you to see right into the kitchen – something Dodo says shows its commitment to transparency and high standards. They use fresh rather than frozen dough and always fresh ingredients and turn out decent pizzas.

MOD Pizza
MOD describes itself as the ‘original superfast pizza’. Basically, they offer artisan-style pizzas with the option to personalise your own. There are more than 30 toppings and the price stays the same no matter what you choose. They do plenty of vegan and veggie options and also offer a range of salads including ‘pizza salad’ as well as mini pizzas.

Basement Browns
Rustic decor, good service, and delicious pizzas – local company Basement Browns has it all for a National Pizza Day feast. They turn out tasty Neapolitan pizzas made using an authentic dough recipe, locally-grown veg, and top quality meats from Italy. A popular choice in Coventry, they also offer craft beers and homemade desserts rustled up by their own resident baker.

Zizzi
Another restaurant whose home is in Cathedral Lanes, Zizzi is in the heart of Coventry city centre and easy to pop into while shopping or in town. As well as turning out pizzas, they also offer pasta, risotto and salads if you fancy something a bit different, plus some indulgent desserts. They’ve also got plenty of vegan and vegetarian options so everyone can join in the fun.

Pizza Express
Another of the big chains, Pizza Express is a firm favourite with plenty of people. Just a stone’s throw from the Belgrade Theatre in Belgrade Plaza, at Pizza Express you get to see your dough being shaped into a pizza right in front of you. They also do a ‘piccolo’ menu for kids and a lighter ‘leggera’ menu if you want to celebrate National Pizza Day in Coventry without threatening your waistline.

Pizza Hut
Do we need to say anything? The classic choice, you’ve probably all been to a Pizza Hut at least once and know the score. A wide range of pizzas to eat in or take away, including vegan options, unlimited salad and a load of offers, including THAT unlimited lunch deal…
