Valentines in Coventry

It’s that time of year again. Christmas is a distant memory, summer seems a long way away, but everything’s good because love is in the air. We know some of you think Valentine’s Day is a load of nonsense, and we also know that most people love each other (and Cov!) all year round, but February 14th is always a nice opportunity to dust off the gladrags and get yourself out for a little celebration.

To help you out, we’ve found some of the Coventry city centre venues that are tempting you with great Valentine’s offers. See if any of these tickle your fancy and plan your Valentine’s Day in Coventry city centre.

The Artisan Bar and Grill

Get romantic in this bar and grill in a Grade II listed building with exposed beams that’s just around the corner from Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre. The Artisan is offering a set Valentine’s menu on February 14th and 15th, with two courses at £22 and three at £25.

Playwrights

This independently-owned bar and bistro right in the heart of Coventry’s Cathedral Quarter is always a popular choice. Playwrights on Hay Lane is in a listed building on the cobbled Hay Lane and is a great place for a romantic evening. They offer classic dishes using local produce including vegan and gluten-free options.

The Botanist

The Botanist is always a popular choice for any occasion with its stunning interior and varied menu. It celebrated its first birthday in November followed by a rip-roaring Christmas and is ready to get loved up for Valentine’s Day. The Botanist Coventry is offering a special Valentine’s menu at £26.50 for three courses, including starters of baked camembert and scotch egg followed by mains of their trademark hanging kebabs as well as steak, plus vegan and gluten-free options.

Queens Road Mediterranean Kitchen

If you want to celebrate Valentine’s night in Coventry with some live music, try Queens Road Mediterranean Kitchen. They’re offering a special three-course Valentine’s menu on Friday, February 14th and Saturday 15th with live music on the Friday. You can even stay over at the Ramada Hotel, with a Valentine’s offer of dinner, bed and breakfast from £129 per couple.

Jinseon

If you’re after a bit of theatre for Valentine’s night right in the heart of Coventry city centre, how about Jinseon? At this Korean charcoal barbecue restaurant and bar, you’ll enjoy dishes of locally sourced meat, seafood & vegetables cooked on a live charcoal fire right in front of you. As well as Korean barbecue, they have a range of dishes from Korean fried chicken to hot pot and soups, as well as set menus to give you a chance to try everything.

Cosy Club

The Cosy Club on Cathedral Lanes is celebrating the power of love on Valentine’s weekend with a special three-course menu with bubbles on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th. For £58 per couple, you can enjoy a sharing starter, two 28-day steaks with chips, and a pudding to share. You can also opt for a vegan version of the menu. The normal menus are available too.

Bayley Lane Kitchen and Cocktails

Next to the historic ruins of Coventry Cathedral, you can’t get a more romantic setting. Bayley Lane Kitchen and Cocktails doesn’t just do great food for a Valentine’s dinner in the heart of Coventry but you’ll be able to sip on some cocktails too. They prepare everything so special dietary requirements can be catered for.

Cafe Rouge

Found in Coventry’s Belgrade Plaza, Café Rouge is a popular choice for all sorts of locations. You can make them your Coventry Valentine’s Day venue of choice from February 13th to16th and take advantage of their special Valentine’s menu which offers three courses and a glass of Prosecco for £25.95 per person. You can even upgrade to a bottle of Piper-Heidsieck for an extra £12.50 per person.

Bistrot Pierre

Whisk your Valentine’s date off to France without even leaving Coventry city centre by choosing Bistrot Pierre for your romantic meal. They’re offering a three-course menu of regional French dishes and a glass of Veuve Devienne Brut for £29.95, all in a lovely setting in their Cathedral Lanes bistro.
